DearMe Privacy Policy
Last updated · May 2026
DearMe is built around a single idea: your journal belongs to you. This page explains, in plain language, what the app does — and doesn't do — with the information you put into it.
What we collect
Nothing is collected, transmitted, or shared. DearMe does not run any servers and the app makes no network calls of any kind.
What's stored on your device
Everything you put into the app stays on this device. That includes your journal entries (titles, bodies, moods, attached photos), your habits and check-off history, your name, your reminder preferences, and your appearance choices. None of it leaves the device.
Photos
When you tap "Add a photo" inside an entry, iOS shows its privacy-preserving photo picker. DearMe only ever sees the specific photo you select; it has no access to the rest of your library.
Notifications
If you enable the daily reminder, iOS schedules a local notification at the time you choose. The reminder is generated entirely on-device — nothing is routed through any server.
Analytics and tracking
There are no analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, location services, crash reporters, or any other form of telemetry in this app.
Children's privacy
Because DearMe doesn't collect any information from anyone, it doesn't collect information from children either. The app is safe for journaling at any age.
Your rights
You can erase all of your entries and habits at any time from Settings → Privacy Options. Because everything is stored locally, deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no copy held elsewhere to recover from.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated text will appear here and in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect when the change was made.
